What is Swire Shipping's Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC)?

Standard Carrier Alpha Codes are issued by the National Motor Freight Traffic Association (NMFTA) in North America. Any company doing business with companies in the USA must use the SCAC when reporting cargo to, or clearing cargo through, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The SCAC is mandatory when reporting cargo/containers to the CBP Automated Manifest System.

US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) uses SCAC to identify an ocean carrier or self-filing party for electronic import customs clearance in their Automated Manifest System.

Swire Shipping has three SCAC Codes in use. The SCAC applicable depends on the Ocean Service carrying the cargo.

There may be limited circumstances, where the SCAC applicable may differ to those listed above. Please verify with your Swire Shipping agent, as required, at time of booking.
